Background
I started working on BattleFile in March 2001, when I had been made redundant from my job. I have always been fascinated by military history and I was looking for a project that would allow me to develop my fledgling web design skills. Unfortunately, I started a new job a few weeks later and BattleFile was put on the back burner for a while. Over the following 5 years or so, I went through phases of working obsessively on the site for a short while and then ignoring it completely for a slightly longer while.
It is worth noting that BattleFile is purely a hobby site. I am not affiliated to any organisation and I am not trying to make any money from it. I have made every effort to research the battles thoroughly and acknowledge all sources used but please contact me if you notice any errors or omissions.
